Artist: Rich Siegle
Project Name: Chess Tribute
Artist Bio:
We asked "Oklamoma Crude" of Big Tex and the Blazin' Pintos to put down his
harmonica and pick up a paint brush! His creation took him back to his Chicago
roots with a graffiti-stenciled tribute to Chess Records, "Home of the Electric Blues".
Chess, the pre-eminent Blues record label of the 50s and 60s, released recordings by
every major blues performer from Muddy Waters to Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker
to Elmore James, "King of the Slide Guitar". Crude's artwork draws from the mystical
imagery in the songs of these blues giants.
Crude is a good friend of Roadside Relics. We're thankful he was able to do this piece with us.
